This is such a lovely mecha design, from the Space Runaway Ideon, a heavy mobility mech-Log Mac. Basically it is a mech piloted by an alien with a ball shape shield on top.
As a result, it looks like a big green ball with a pair of legs. Simple. And funny.
As usual, out of box with a little modification for articulation and some extra option parts. The modification is mainly for a more cartoonish pose. For finishing, I did a little light weathering; basically just simply taruh kinda weathering work; a bit of wash, chipping and some pigment.
Overall, while i like the mecha very much, but I think i kinda failed in making the comical feeling that i initially intend to.
Anyway, whatever done is done. I had a good time huhu.

信风模型 - 投石器 Wood Model - Trebuchet
This is a company specialized in wood model, mainly doing ship model kits. This is one from their Siege Weapons or Machine of Middle Age Series: a trebuchet.
The price of the kit I wouldnt complain much; it is just slightly higher than those kids' wood models, like the dinosaur bone model etc. While it is laser cut on 3 layer plywood, the major complaint of this kit is its accuracy problem.
Instruction manual to me is clear enough, no major mistake spotted, comes with white glue, a poster color-like paint (with heavy picment), and even a cloth to apply the paint. However the accuracy problem makes the whole building process aint such an enjoyable one. At least from a plastic modeler point of view.
True, i might be spoiled by the accuracy of injection plastic kits. This kit builds more like a wood sail boat; with places need to be further sanding to insert, or even need extra nail to enforce.
The good thing is, the final appearance looks pretty satisfying, with its length near to a feet long. The natural wood texture, though is definitely outta scale, does makes it look really nice; at least to me who always enjoy looking at wood texture.
Og just remember, it does build with movable parts, but the design n accuracy, it is more like for the modeler to final adjust n fine tune the position, fix it, and display.

Space Magical Show Build Off, WIP #1 12/10/19
Today icw very zen because we r practising aroma therapy......
This a build off between Geno n i, which i was so amazed he did know about this anime after i showed him the kit. Since i have kept 2 copies, so we decided to have a little build off.
The kit is Cluster the Robot. Basically i think i m gonna forgo the transforming ability but add some detail one it to make a display static kit.
yeah, butt itchy again, but with a cockpit that size, who wouldnt wanna to do some cockpit light? XD

黑竜号:太空探索隊 WonderFest Summer 2010
This cute little thing is among my loot in Japan Summer Wonderfest 2010. As the name, black dragon, it's originally suppsed to be black in color. I just change it to yellowish, just like an egg yolk.
Since wonderfest, I realize one thing: sometimes a person can be a fantastic sculptor, but he might not be a good recaster.
Yeah, like many of the kits I bought from Wonderfest, mostly from smaller name sculptor where they do they own casting, the kit quality isn't anywhere compared to the commercial n experienced manufacturer. Sand hole is so much until i was confused whether it is done such way purposely.
Since there r quite some space in the middle, I have decided to light up the cockpit with optical fiber. Colors of the light r just done by painting the tip with different clear color. Well, u cant see them here because I didnt take any photos. I didnt take any photo because during the photoshooting time, I think there s a short circuit n it burned the LED . I m just too lazy to make any changes....
Besides that, the main thing for me for this project, besides the optical fiber that didnt lit, is actually the color. I always wanna do a sunshine egg yolk kind of color hahahahaah.
Oh btw, ignore the decals. I just put them there for decoration while hoping nobody can recognize them. Yes, decals are from everywhere: some itasha, gundam etc.

Wood Model - 绿漪亭 Chinese Pavilion
This is another chinese company I found in taobao. Unlike most of the wood model makers, they do not do sail boats; but in fact they do buildings. More specifically, Chinese traditional buildings.
I was attracted to some of their kits, especially the bigger ones like the Qing dynasty palace and such. However, dued to the considered high price, yes my prejudice n sinful expectation of China product being low in price, I have decided to get a smaller one to give it a try first.
Overall, I find it is pretty enjoyable. Again, I realized many techniques, or i should say way of the the product design is inspired by sail boat model.
The main new thing I have first time experience is to build a model with the aid of water.
See, Chinese buildings have this curvy design. In reality, many of them are either actually being cut into the curvy shape, or being join piece by piecen create a final appearance of being curvy. However, since I am doinga simplified verysion of a scale down model, what I m given is a whole piece of wood instead of tens of separated pieces. As a result, some pieces i need to use water, make them wet, n bend them while waiting it to dry. Repeat a few times n I would get the shape i want.
sounds like some tedious work, but I must say the satisfaction of successfully bend something with great accuracy is definitely worth the work n time.
